- The payment date is determined based on the last digit (Endziffer) of the child benefit number
Child Benefit Payment Dates Determination in Germany
The system is simple – the last digit (Endziffer) of the Child Benefit Number (Kindergeldnummer) decides when the Child Benefit (Kindergeld) will be paid to the user’s bank account. The Child Benefit Number is indicated as xxxFKxxxxxx (x represents a number from 0 to 9).
For example, if the Child Benefit Number is 114FK123551, then number 1 is its last digit (Endziffer). This last digit (in this case number 1) determines the date of the month when the payment will be made. The payment always goes to the bank account.
In Germany, from January 2023, the Child Benefit is €250 per child monthly.
