Child Tax Allowance: Less Taxes for Parents

The public prosecutor’s office in Osnabrück is investigating possible abuse of trust and bribery because a clerk of the Osnabrück district immigration office has carried out questionable naturalizations in more than 300 cases since January 2022.
The 33-year-old employee for approved citizenships seems to have pocketed around €41,000 in bribes. The district council dismissed the official and filed a lawsuit. Der Spiegel first reported on the case.
