Minimum wages are due to rise on January 1, 2024

The Minimum Wage Commission (Mindestlohnkommission) has proposed the minimum wage increase. From January 1, 2024, the minimum wage is expected to increase to 12.41 € gross per hour. The minimum wage in Germany currently is 12 € per hour.

Mini-job limits are set to rise on January 1, 2024

If the minimum hourly wage increases, the monthly maximum amount of the mini-job will also increase. This would mean that employees can earn up to €538 per month from 01/2024 through mini jobs instead of €520.

New limit for public health insurance in 2024

The limit for leaving the compulsory public health insurance in Germany (GKV) should increase to 69,300 € in 2024 from the current 66,600 € per year.
